POSTPONED – The Lost Café Schindler

In conversation with Network Member Tania Barnett, Meriel Schindler will speak about her book, The Lost Café Schindler,  describing her Holocaust heritage, how she researched and wrote up her family history, and arranged the publication of her book. Meriel will also share how the process of writing and researching has affected her relationship with her Holocaust inheritance and sense of Second Generation identity. The conversation will be followed by a Q + A.   Booking details to follow.

6th February – Cambridge Second Generation Network Group Meeting

The next meeting of the Cambridge Network group will be held on Sunday 6th February at 2.30pm GMT.  If the Holocaust is part of your heritage and you would like to meet other members of the Second and Third Generations in an informal setting in central Cambridge you would be very welcome to join us. At this meeting we will continue to share stories associated with items we bring along – a letter, document, photo, photocopy or artefact – that relate to our family history. Tuesday 11th January 2022 – Discussion Group Meeting: Holocaust Memorial Day: 2022 Theme – ‘One Day’

In this Discussion Group meeting Network Member and founder Ruth Barnett will introduce the Holocaust Memorial Day theme – One Day – and Network Member and Chair of the Northern Holocaust Education Group Ernie Hunter will outline the work of the NHEG.This meeting, open to Members of the Second and Third Generations, is a chance to share our thoughts and reflections on the HMD theme and Holocaust education. Start time 6.20pm for 6.30pm GMT to give everyone time to set up and check their Zoom connection. Numbers are limited and Network members will be given priority. If you would like to attend this meeting, please email  davidwirth@secondgeneration.org.uk. A Zoom link will be provided.
