What is the impact on the Second Generation of being the child of a teenager who escaped the Holocaust by living in full view of others in the countryside? Elaine Sinclair will introduce two people who will share their own experiences: Carole Joseph’s Czech mother, Vera Fischel, who was rescued by a butcher in a village in Italy. Mark Berman’s Polish born mother, Hanka Kupfer, and her immediate family were rescued by her best friend’s parents and placed in a village in western France.
Carole and Mark will describe their parents’ stories and the lasting legacy on themselves and their families. After their presentations there will be time for questions and comments. An Eventbrite link will be available soon.
