Tuesday 5th February 2019 – Absence and Loss
Arranged in conjunction with the ACJR (Association of Children of Jewish Refugees), photographer Marion Davies will give an illustrated talk about her photographic journey to record Holocaust Memorials in Berlin and other cities, and to explore Holocaust remembrance and memorialisation. She will portray the total disruption of the lives of those who fell outside Hitler’s world vision and explore how Germany is trying both to confront and address the consequences of its past, while grappling with and acknowledging the loss of a vibrant part of its population and culture. After the talk there will be an opportunity to share your own experiences of visiting Holocaust memorials and your thoughts about the design chosen for the new memorial in London. Places are free but booking is essential. To book a place please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
